Happy Monday Everyone!
(and thankfully this Monday is almost over with lol)
Last week I told you that I started a new adventure with Beauty Counter and I spoke a bit about their mission for safer beauty (if you missed it, you can read that blog post here).
I'd like to kind of switch gears this week and focus on one product: just tell you about it, how is works and why you may want to think about trying it out yourself. Hopefully I can make this a weekly thing.
This week I want to tell you about the very first product that I tried, and it was the one that really hooked me...
The Cleansing Balm.
There is actually two different ways that you can use this. The first, obviously, as a cleanser. Use it at night, massage about an almond sized dollop all over your face , then simply dampen the muslin cloth in warm water and gently wipe off the balm. After that, rinse your face with cool water. That's it. Easy peasy. It hydrates as it cleanses but never strips away moisture. The product is great for any skin type, but if you have skin that tends to be on the drier side (like myself), you will especially love it.
The other way you can use it, is actually how I used it for the first time, as a face mask. It was a couple of years ago, and I was talking to my friend Heather about her becoming a consultant with Beauty Counter, she was telling me about some products, and I told her about a problem that I was having with my skin. It was probably February or March - so still cold in Kansas City, and even though I normally have drier skin in the winter months - something really awful was going on with the skin on my face. I had different sized super duper red dry patches everywhere. I was trying every kind of moisturizer possible, and all it was doing was giving me acne in the areas with no dry patches. Makeup didn't cover it very well, in fact sometimes it just made it look worse and drew more attention to the dry areas. This probably went on for about 6 weeks or so. My skin felt so dry, tight and just awful. I had never had this issue before, so I was at a loss as far as what to do.
So, Heather told me that she had a product that could probably really help my issue, The Cleansing Balm. I had been wanting to try some products, so she sent me some samples of a few of their skin care items a few days later. That night, I put the cleansing balm on all of the dry patches on my face (which seemed like they were everywhere), and I went to bed. I remember thinking to myself "gosh it feels so good to not feel like the skin on my face is about to rip open when I talk" because my skin was suddenly feeling somewhat normal again.
The next morning, I looked in the mirror and I was amazed. The dry spots weren't as red, they weren't as cracked, my face didn't hurt - it was wonderful! So I did the same thing again the next couple of nights, and truly, within 3-4 days, the dry spots were totally gone. I couldn't believe it. It worked miracles for me, so I am forever hooked.
If you think this may be a product you need and are interested in purchasing, you can do so here.
Or... if this peaked your interest but maybe you're on the fence about purchasing... maybe you just want to try it out for a couple of days, I can easily get you a sample if you'd like. Just leave me a comment below.
I hope you all are doing well and staying healthy. I will talk with you soon!
